Orthodox Easter Card - Slavonic
Celebrate Orthodox Easter with this elegant Ukrainian Easter egg greeting card. This festive Pascha design features a single hand-drawn pysanka in rich red, burgundy, and golden yellow tones. According to Ukrainian tradition, each color and symbol on the pysanka carries a particular meaning. Red symbolizes happiness, hope, and the blood of Christ. Yellow represents the sun, harvest, youth and joy while brownish-red represents the earth. White symbolizes purity, light, birth and the Resurrection. The branches of wheat represent prosperity, abundance, harvest and wealth and the crosses represent Christ.
The pysanka on the front of this card was hand-illustrated by Katya (owner of Katerina Design Co) on her iPad. An Orthodox Cross with the initials “XB” (Христос Воскресе, or Christ is Risen) in the center.
